ACADEMIC PROGRAM
There
are two semesters in the year - the first begins in
early February and the second in July and concludes with final
assessment and graduation
in early December.
Mid-semester breaks are timed to coincide with NSW
Christian
School holidays.
An Orientation Week for all first-year students is
conducted before first semester and before second semester for
those
begining in July.
Most
classes are conducted in the
mornings from Monday to Friday, but some afternoon lectures may be
required from time to time.
Subjects in the Certificate IV in
Christian Ministry (VETAB accredited) are taught in one to
three
week
intensive blocks of time.
We
consider prayer and worship to be a vital part of the Christian life
and ministry. Tuesdays and Fridays begin with a time
of worship, prayer, sharing and Bible teaching. There is the
opportunity for students to plan, lead,
testify, preach and otherwise participate in the
various elements of corporate worship. Students are expected to attend
all Chapel services. On
Wednesdays, staff
and students meet together in small groups for Bible study,
sharing
and prayer. A day each term is devoted to corporate and
personal prayer.
Occasionally
guest
missionary speakers, representing various types of Christian
ministry and
missionary work, share about
their experiences to broaden staff and students' horizons of Christian
ministry and world mission.
One
afternoon a week, students work on the property in routine
cleaning, maintenance and development. A work-week or several
work-days form part of each semester. This helps students to develop
latent handyman skills, provides
change from intensive study and helps to develop a well-rounded
Christian
character.
