Admission Requirements

Students enrolling in the Certificate IV in Christian Ministry at Tahlee Bible College will also be enrolled as students with ACOM Localnet.

Students are normally enrolled on the basis of completion of the Higher School Certificate (or equivalent), with results which would normally qualify the applicant to enrol in an equivalent TAFE program. Students over 21 years may also apply for mature age entry. In some instances, provisional admission may be granted to those who do not meet the above requirements but who can demonstrate that they are capable of pursuing studies at this level. After completing one term of the course, the student's proficiency will be evaluated for granting full admission or otherwise.

Students will be required to be in agreement with the principles of Tahlee Bible College and to abide by the principles and practices of community living at Tahlee.

Applications for admission from students for whom English is a second language, must be accompanied by a result of not less than 6 in the IELTS to demonstrate sufficient English language ability to engage in the studies required.

Admission Procedures

Applicants are required to complete an application form, including providing proof of educational standards achieved at school and other post secondary educational and professional / trade qualifications. Applicants must be interviewed by the Training Program Manager (Principal) and Registrar before being accepted. Alternative arrangements can be made where distance prevents a visit to the College for this interview.

Each applicant must also:

  1. provide a testimony of conversion and personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ;
  2. be assured of the personal leading of God to College, which normally should be confirmed by a recommendation from his or her local church; and
  3. demonstrate a spirit of dedication that will sustain the steady discipline required in study and the training in a communal environment.

.

Advanced Standing

Advanced Standing may be granted for comparable work completed at an approved level at a recognised tertiary institution, or non-formal learning from life and work experience or informal training programs, to a maximum of 50 percent of the award for which the student is enrolled.

Applicants wishing to be considered for Advanced Standing are required to complete an "Application for Advanced Standing Based on Recognition of Prior Learning" form and supply documentation confirming studies completed or non-formal training and work experiences. Applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Assessment of an application does not imply a guaranteed admission to or Advanced Standing in a course at the College.

Mutual Recognition

The College will recognise the AQF Qualifications and Statements of Attainments issued by other Registered Training Organisations, where the learning outcomes, content and assessment methods are compatible with those of Tahlee Bible College.

For students enrolling in the Certificate IV in Christian Ministry, recognition and Advanced Standing to a maximum of 50 percent of the award will be given to applicants who have completed a Certificate III course in a related discipline, such as Certificate III in Biblical Studies or Christian Studies.

Commencement
